Funding Rate Arbitrage: Cross-Exchange Funding Spreads and Cash-and-Carry Yield
About this page
Funding arbitrage holds a hedged long/short position in the same coin to collect funding. Futures-futures: short the perpetual with the higher funding rate and long the lower one across Binance, OKX, Bybit, Bitget, Gate, HTX, Aster and Hyperliquid. Spot-futures: with positive funding buy spot and short the perpetual. Futures-spot: with negative funding borrow and sell spot and long the perpetual. This page annualizes current funding and shows the next settlement countdown, open/close spread and fee payback time.
- How is net funding APR calculated?
- perpetual hourly
- How is payback time calculated?
- Payback = round-trip taker fees ÷ hourly net funding. Futures-futures uses 4 perpetual taker fills; spot-futures and futures-spot use 2 spot and 2 perpetual taker fills. Taker rates are editable on the page (default 0.05% perpetual, 0.1% spot). It excludes open/close spread, borrow interest and transfer costs, and funding is actually paid per settlement.
- How should I read open / close spread?
- It is the order-book spread when opening in the funding direction, computed the same way as on the futures-futures and spot-futures pages. Positive means the entry price works in your favor; negative means you give up that spread on entry. The direction may differ from those pages because this page picks long/short by funding, not by price spread.
